During your time apart, you need to seriously consider whether the relationship is worth saving. This is the time to be totally honest with yourself and examine why the two of you should or should not be together.

Here's how things stand. Your ex has left you and you want to arouse feelings of regret and sorrow in your ex's mind. So, how do you plan to go about achieving your goal of getting your ex back?

This may take more or less than 30 days, but most do agree that there should be no contact immediately after a breakup with the possible exception of letting your ex know that you agree with the breakup. This will work in your favor as time goes on.

Step #2- Quit playing God- You are not perfect, and you do not control everything. Just because you tell your ex to come back, does not mean he/she has to. No one wants to be forced, and arguing with your ex to do it, just goes to show how much you are trying to force your ex. Blaming your ex for everything as well, and never taking any responsibility of your own will only further make your ex despise you. Remember you are not God, you make mistakes, and the sooner you can admit that and apologize, the sooner your ex will consider you again.

Pleading - You call your ex and say something like “Hello, please call me, I've been calling you all day and I really need to talk to you”. As you may see, this is one call that is going to be unanswered. It will get the calling part into desperate state and only separete you more from your ex. You don't use pity to get your ex back.

Play hard to get- If anyone was the expert at playing games, it would be your ex; but since we aren't here to point fingers, this is how you can get your ex crazy for you. Playing hard to get means you will no longer just hand out yourself so easily. If you were having sex with your ex you won't anymore. If you were calling your ex, you won't. If you were telling your ex how much you love him/her and care, you will stop doing that.

Men do some of the dumbest things when they are all strung out on a girl, and one of them is to become that stalker of an ex boyfriend that won't leave her alone. And women know this and it is something that they think about and fear. If you show her that you are NOT that kind of guy and that you are not going to become that stalker of an ex boyfriend, she will at least be open to meeting up with you and talking to you when the time is right.
